Fifty Thousand Bees

If someone has posted about this I apologize. I just read about this story this morning. A little girl kept telling her parents there were monsters in her walls (of a 100 year old house), and it got so bad she had night terrors. After four different people examined the house, a beekeeper found a huge hive with honey dripping throughout walls of that room. They had to close off her room for weeks in order to get them all (it is illegal to kill endangered honeybees), and it cost them $20,000. They estimate 20,000 bees died in the relocation process, which bothered the woman, but the beekeeper assured her this was as good as of a result they could have hoped for.

Oh my goodness. i know they make a lot of noise, we had hornets building a large hive between the wall and the roof in our bedroom. We had to hire professionals to get rid of them.

@AmbiePam We heard a noise during the night, I thought someone was drilling, I was so upset. One day one of those horrible beasts arrive to make a hole and get inside the room. I immediately called for help.

I came across this story earlier today. I didn't read the whole article, but $20,000? That's pricey.

That poor little girl, I hope that she learns to understand what happened and can make sense of it all. Nobody will ever doubt her again.

She said the first tiny hole the guy put in the wall just released an overwhelming aroma of the honey. I guess a hundred years ago they made things really well.

I would feel guilty for not understanding the daughter. It wasn’t her fault, but I’d still feel badly.

The cost was huge. But there were a lot of bees. They are beneficial, but it's scary to have them in your house.

She’s scared her newborn would get stung, and she doesn’t know if she’s allergic yet.
