I always questioned sanity of my brother who always watched of reaction videos of his fighting matches and Indian movies on YT. So after more than 5 years, I tried watching those reaction videos!! And before we dive deeper, let's keep this in mind that India is the most populous country in the world now!! So, lots of Indians on this planet. After randomly searching on YT, I found a self-claimed artist couple reacting to many Indian songs, but that couple watched the whole video while wowing from time to time. They didn't say anything technical about the songs or the choreography. So, I switched to another foreign singer who also reacted to these Indian songs. He explained some technical stuff that I didn't know or never bothered about and I must say, my ego got pumped up. Hence, I got into a rabbit hole and watched many of his reaction videos and went through the comment section too. I was amused by many stuff I found and therefore my learnings are: 1. The views on the Indian songs were about approx in lakhs because we Indians rush to anything related to us. His reaction lasted for about 2 minutes and he asked the audience to watch the full edited reaction video, they had to join his Patreon. 2. The comment section was full of requests to react to their favourite Indian songs, information about the background of the songs, info about singers, actors, movies featured in that song, and also real-life updates of those actors, singers, and the rest involved in those Indian songs. The comments would be of course in hundreds and 99% of the commenters were Indians. 3. Also, I found that Indians would request him to react to any specified songs by paying him and he would ask to watch the full reaction, to join him on Patreon!! Earlier, he used to keep his reaction videos fully available for the audience to watch!! I guess, Indians do have loads of money. 4. But the only good thing was I appreciated our songs more. When life happens, you tend to take everything for granted. I am proud and happy for the fact that India gave music to the world, which I learned from the YouTubers, which leads to the next point: 5. The people of our country fight in the comment section stating that their favourite actor/singer/director/movie/ is better than their counterparts. Also, they get sensitive to the fact that one of the reactors said India. As a result, he says Bharat! I don't know how it makes a difference!! They are seriously wasting their time by being coated with false egos and fighting unimportant fights! 6. Many YouTubers just watch Indian movies or songs and that's it! They want a huge audience and views. After building a loyal base of viewers, they expand their genres of content including English, Korean, and other content. They don't talk about the intricacies or other technicalities! YouTube has become a video recorder of these reaction content creators who watch the Indian content. 7. Now Indians are also reacting to Indian movies and songs with no inputs on cinema or music or dance! Some foreigners are genuinely interested in knowing about India, rest are using the Indian audience because we are the most populous nation! They do not do their research, just ask for recommendations and that's it because they will get their scoop in the comment section. They do not make their own research before or while reacting to the Indian contents. Mention India and Indians will be there! I hope some YouTubers create awareness of this issue and people put their time into some productive work. As I have wasted my time enough on reaction videos, I won't waste my time further!
