They ruined our carpet

My mom is very sad and she said that she wants to cry. She has a studio apartment and she rented it to two young men. I didn't agree with her decision because I don't trust men. Today my mom checked if everything was all right and the carpet was ruined. It is black and it looks awful. Its color was brown and it was beautiful. The men who rented the studio apartment didn't want to say how they ruined that carpet. They said that nothing happened. Before them, we had a woman in that studio apartment and she took care of everything. These men stayed only for 3 months and they already started to destroy things. I feel sad for my mom. She almost cried. Everything was new in that studio apartment. Some people invested their hard-earned money and bought everything new.

Did she have a damage deposit? I'm sorry that happened. Renting is such a gamble.

Yes, she has a damage deposit, but we wonder if they will continue to destroy our things. If they will continue they shouldn't stay there anymore. They said that they will try to clean the carpet and if this isn't possible they will buy a new one. But this happened after my mom asked them to do this.

i am so sorry. it is one thing, if there is a little stain but a whole carpet turning in black, no good. i think they should be kicked out. i also don't trust men though, here, many landlords think that girls bring trouble.

They will be kicked out if they don't clean or replace the carpet.

They don't care at all about people's things.

@dya80dya That's why George never wanted to get into the business of renting.

I hope she asked for a deposit to cover the damages they cause.

@dya80dya That is the problem when people causes a lot of damages. One of our neighbors rented his home and the family who lived there caused a lot of damages.

Yes, but that deposit isn't enough if they will ruin our things.

@dya80dya Check and make sure the pipes are there. They often sell them for scrap.

Yes, my mom asked them to buy a new carpet. They said that they would buy a new one. We will see because they could have ruined other things too. My mom didn't check all the things that were there.

She should be reimbursed for the carpet and I think those men should be told to move elsewhere,

This is why I would never ever be someone's landlord. I trust no one when it comes to things like renting.

It's very risky to rent something.
