We Got a Heavy Rainstorm, Last Night

We were both awaken last night, by a heavy rainstorm hammering on the roof! The accumulation left puddles on both sides of road, in front of our home. I have to be careful, driving around these waterholes.
Now, it's not raining, but the potholes along the driveway are filled with water. We had quite an accumulation, during the night.
It's maybe 55 degrees F today, not too cold to suit me. I like this weather!
Jay had an appointment in the city, but I stayed home to get some things done.

We had an absolute gullywashing rain two nights ago. It came down so hard and fast. Lots of water in a very short time. Hard to even see across the road. But I like it that way, I hate days and days of mournful drizzle. I want it to actually RAIN!

My Dad used to always say that. I often heard “It’s a gullywasher!” When I was a little girl! I love that word.

@mariecoyle You used my favorite word -gullywashing! I tell my cat it is a gullywasher out there when he isn't looking out the window and can
t see and also my sister regardless of how hard it is raining.
It is an impact day here for rain but I renamed them Gullywasher Day

@MarieCoyle we have something in common in loving that word! The only difference is my dad never called it that word. I looked up words online describing heavy rain and really liked Gullywasher! I can't get anybody else I know to use that word with ne!

The level in Lake Huron was down a little bit. So, I guess the heavy rain makes up for this:)

we had tornadoes Wednesday morning It was predicted to go right through where I live and I lay in my bed praying and God listened and the tornados missed my cat and me. but were two in PA and one in WV we had a very, very loud thunderstorm but God got me and my cat through all the weather. we were both petrified
My phone developed an alert and made me jump at 1 saying the weather

@kobesbuddy I believe God kept me safe because He loves taking care of me and he loves my cat so much!
My cat knows if anybody/anything gets hurt in this house has to be me. I am like the proverbial mama bear when it comes to protecting him.
But both of us went to bed very soon after the tornado watch ended

That's one thing I'm glad about. After it rains, the water soaks in, quickly. Our ground must be in need of water.

With the constant sunny weather warming up it would be great if that built up humidity allowed for some rain but only sunny skies here,

Actually, Lake Huron's water level was down. The reason is because we had very little snow this winter. I guess the rain will make up for this lack of water.
