I was driving home from hiking. I met vehicles with their hoods covered in snow?!?
Okay, it can't be snowing (+20°C). They can't have driven from somewhere with snow.
Hail, it finally dawned on me. Suddenly the road was white, but the hail had already stopped.
It was slow going, and then close to home it started to hail again. I've never heard such loud bangs in the car before!
Now the car is covered with dents and the windshield is smashed. It already had some cracks, so was going to be replaced soonish.
The lucky part? It didn't happen on the hike!

@paigea I saw some on TV they said were bigger than softballs. How big were yours? They look big from the picture.

@snowy22315 I've never seen hail, the size as a softball! Wow!
These were the size of bubblegum from a machine. And smaller ones. It sounded like softballs hitting the car!

It hailed heavily in our city last month,the hail was very weird in this season.Since April,the temperature got over plus 20.I felt it's lucky the hail didn't appear on your hike.Be cautious to drive.
