How do you handle spam calls? Do you answer?

Just to get the opportunity to yell at complete strangers? I’ve seen family members do this. My dad and I have a little more fun with them, whereas my mom and uncle, all you hear is yelling, like LEAVE ME ALONE!! STOP CALLING! I WILL REPORT YOU! THIS HAS TO BE ILLEGAL! My dad’s approach: He answers, and I hear him saying things like, “No, I don’t speak English. I do understand what you’re trying to sell, but unfortunately, I don’t speak English.” (While he’s clearly speaking perfect English.) Or, “I’m not allowed to make decisions. My wife says I’m incapable of making decisions. You’d better call back and talk to her. She will answer.” My approach: I answer, in a very friendly tone. And then I pretend I can’t hear them. They keep hitting me with the sales pitch, and I just keep interrupting with, “Hello? Hellooo ? Gosh, I wish I could hear you, I’m only getting bits and pieces. This sounds like something I’d be interested in too. Hello? Bad connection. Can you call me right back? I’m so interested in this.” And then of course I block the caller when they immediately call back, that number, and the one they used before. (It’s a great way to weed out all spam calls, because a lot of the time they use multiple numbers.) But you need to get them to call you back. When you get a spam call, do you: A. Not answer at all and block B. Yell at them and get all your anger out C. Play with them I shall return after I do 5 hours of work. Need $$ for mini-grill. Only 20 dollas away Wed. May 15th Time: Time to get to work you lazy butt I love this song

Due to my husband's stroke, he's been refered to different doctors. The VA wants him to see all thease specialists. They are trying to guilt us to going to Orlando (which is about an hour drive each way) for the appoitments. That's too far, especially since George isn't driving (and even if he was he doesn't want to be on the interstate) so I have to check the caller I.D. Because it might be a doctor's office reaching out, I answer professionally. It doesn't take long for me to weed out spam calls.

Apple came out with a thing that shows calls as potential spam. In a lot of cases it’ll automatically send them to voicemail without my getting a chance to answer. But I have been known to answer a potential spam call with, “FBI, Agent Green, may I help you.”

Truecaller lets me know if it's a spam. I will not pick up if it's been reported spam. Sometimes, I do get spam calls despite the Truecaller. I will pick up and politely say that I am in the middle of something important and hang up. Your dad's thing made me laugh
