here in the philippines, we usually eat cooked rice on every meal we have..but we have a lot of variety of food to eat during breakfast. we usually eat fried rice, eggs or dried fish. or we have champorado, its rice soup with cocoa. we also eat pan de sal, with some butter or margarine or liver spread. if you have a lot of money, we can eat western style breakfast. but that's for people who can afford it.

Wow, even though I am chinese, I don't eat that for breakfast, since I probably can't eat so many things for breakfast as well. Usually I just have toast + kaya or peanut butter... I wake up 5.30am everyday, it's too early for all these oily food! :P

On a normal week day, I usually have a cup of tea, some water and/or some juice, 2 slices of toast or a bowl of cereal (we get a new kind of breakfast cereal every month at least). On weekends, or days off, I might make scrambled or fried eggs, and steak or bacon, with toast etc, but I usually stick to simple, healthy breakfast throughout the week. I'm Australian, but I don't know if this is typical for our country - people just eat as they like =)

I have a bowl of branflakes with semi skimmed milk on them, monday thro to friday. saturdays and sundays I have two slices of brown bread toasted. Everyday my children have fresh fuit and cereal withsemi skimmed milk on it. They are also offered brown bread toasted. On weekends they are offered jam, honey and lemon curd on there toast. On sundays they have a boiled egg and toasted soliders to dip in to the egg. When we were away on holiday over the Easter holidays in the guest house we have the full English breakfast, fried bread, bacon, egg, beans and sausage. What is youtiao and youbing please.

I live in a very diverse community with people from around the world, so no one in my area really eats the same breakfast. But, in general, most Americans will eat something that was listed in the first respondent's response that you got. Mostly, the tradition is to eat some kind of cereal like oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, or cereal. Others might eat eggs, steak or ham. There's so many people from so many traditions that there's no right way to eat breakfast.

My mom will always prepare rice, egg, fish, and milk/coffee everyday! Now, that I am married, I am just having tea every morning, it is very rare that my husband and I will take a regular food for breakfast only when we are visiting our parents or we are in a vacation!

In USA Louisiana for breakfast hmm I think we eat just about anything. Grits, eggs, pancakes, muffins, bagels, waffles, bread, cereal, oatmeal, steak, left over pizza, or any left overs lol. I like an egg over easy on top of left over steak. Pancakes with an egg over easy in the middle with syrup on top. Grits I like a dash of sugar with butter. Sometimes I put an egg over easy in it chopped up. My favorite way for eggs is over easy I guess lol.

Soup for breakfast! What type? A light soup? I normally have tea and toast. Some sort of muffin or croissant is quite nice too, although something more savoury is also needed. Eggs are great - poached, scrambled, hard boiled; they make a nice breakfast too. I like cereal, but not at breakfast time!
