Amanda will be having to go back to court on August 18

For those of you who read my discussions over the past year or so you know about what happened to my daughter a year ago in July. Well, the pretrial of the person who she had the problem with is this Wednesday. If he decides to plead guilty the whole thing will be over. If not, the trial with a jury will take place on Monday August 18. Amanda is extremely stressed right now. We had originally been told that the pretrial would be this past Friday. I went ahead and called the courthouse to see if anything had happened and then was told that the judge had changed it to Wednesday the 13th. Needless to say Amanda was torn up and I'm extremely ticked off at the judge. I have been told that this particular judge is extremely notorious for putting things off. I wonder how he would feel if the victim were he or a member of his family and the judge put his case off???
Amanda is worried about me over doing it by going to the trial when it will be a week after my surgery, but I told her that nothing will stop me from being there to support her. I told her that if I have to get up and walk around for a few minutes during the trial I will, but I will be there to support her. She didn't realize until last night that her daddy had taken annual leave at work to be there for her. He was unable to be at the first court appearance due to circumstances beyond his control, but he was determined to get time off for this one. It made her feel much better to know her daddy will be there also.

Hello Shelialee, I do not know the particulars of the case, but I wish your daughter the best. I am sure the waiting can be mind boggling and cause much stress. It is good that she will have her parents there for the needed support.

Good Morning! Yes, the stress of waiting has been very hard for her. She cries every time the subject is brought up. We don't bring it up, we just let her bring it up if she feels like talking and we just listen and let her cry and know we are here for her.

Sweetie tell her from me to remember what I said to her before her last Court appearance, just think Mickey Mouse that's all
Tell her I will of course be with her to maybe not in Person but like last time with Heart and Mind, she is a strong Girl and I know she will do just fine like last time
No worries and of course she has another Supporter now she is not alone and never will be while we are all gathering round her

Sweet Gaby!! What a dear friend you have been to Amanda through all of this!! She has been helped so much by the talks you have given with her and I love and appreciate you so much, words can never express how much!! She is strong or she could never be able to actually go through with it and you are right, having Mark has helped even more. He is standing strongly by her.

Hopefully he will plead guilty when he sees Amanda is not about to back off. She is very brave in going through with this. A lot of people would just want to forget about it, but by continuing with this she is helping stop this guy. Even if he only get probation, she is helping establish a pattern of behavior for him, and this could lead to preventing further harrassment.

That is what my husband is saying Amber. He thinks the guy has been thinking that all this time Amanda would back down but since she hasn't he is thinking that he might decide "Well, maybe I better go ahead and plead guilty before things get worse." They told us at the last trial that if he is found guilty that he could have to serve up to a year, but we don't know that for sure. We will just have to wait and see.

Hugs to you both! I remember your previous discussions and even though it's been delayed once again, I'm just glad something is being done in terms of a court hearing.

I'm sorry to hear that there have been delays in this. Your daughter went through enough already. Hope this guy gets the punishment he deserves. It would be nice, if he pleads guilty, but most don't. Let's hope you guys can put this behind you soon. We'll keep you all in our prayers.

Amanda will appreciate that so much, she has had a tremendous outpouring of support here on MyLot that has helped her so much. I will let her read these responses and I know it will make her feel much better.

I have no idea what has happened to your daughter and this person because I have only just been on Mylot for just over two months and missed out on your discussion about this case, whatever it was I hope everything will work out fine for your daughter when the tral do come around. I have to commend your daughter on her gutsiness. She is doing the right thing, and could save this idiot the stress he has caused your daughter and your family. Hopefully, the guy will plead guilty, and this mess will all be over. I'll be anxious to hear how it turns out. Good Luck, this creep needs to be punished for acting that way.

I'm so sorry that they put off your daughters original pretrial this has to be a very stressful time for the whole family I really do hope that this man gets what he deserves I think that you're right if it was the judges family or him himself he would be beyond peeved to have it put off. I wish her the best on the day of the pretrail and hope that the creep gets what he deserves.
