How do you learn a new craft?

When you want to learn a new craft what is your favourite way to do it? Do you learn from family or friends? Do you take classes? Do you look for instructions online? Do you experiment on your own? I often develop my own techniques based on things that I have learned from others. After a while I start to experiment and adjust the technique a little. Sometimes I find inspiration online and decide to try something that I have seen on the internet. In some situations it is easier to have a teacher to ask for advice or to help you when you get stuck, but I also find it interesting and challenging to learn new things on my own.

Usually I get a kit from a store like Hobby Lobby or if there is not kit I look on youtube. Usually I do just go on the internet and watch a how to video after I have gotten all the supplies to do the craft that I want. I am a very visual person so it helps for me to see someone doing it rather than to just be told how to do it.

I am a visual person as well, and I like to see the things that I want to learn. I often use drawings to learn something new, and I like to buy or borrow a book about the technique that I would like to learn. I haven't used the videos on Youtube to learn something, but I think that it could be a good idea to look for that kind of videos next time that I want to learn something new.

When I wanted to learn how to crochet, I ended up going to a craft store and buying myself a crafting kit and I learned from the book. I also used youtube to watch some videos for help on some stitches. I personally don't know anyone that crochet's so I had to just wing it and learn myself. I was OK with that though because I really like figuring things out for myself.

I usually learn it on my own. Or buy books with the instructions. I love doing almost any craft...I learned to paint in one weekend. I watched it on public television then bought a few books and sat and practiced one weekend....and by the end of the weekend...I knew how to paint.

I might learn from online. You can find almost anything from online nowadays right? if not, I might look at other sources. It is possible way to find a solution of your own. All you need just practice, and trying.
