Just listen.

There are so many problems in life that can be avoided by just listening to someone else. In the past, I've tried to warn people, but they just went on like they knew better. Maybe they might have but they did not and it was a bit obvious that if they would have listened, they would not be in the tight jam they are.

It is one of the things that really does save so much drama of life. If we all listened, then life would be easier. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I think listening to sage advice is always a good idea. However, I think it's also important to make our own mistakes in life. You learn more from a wrong choice than you do from a right one. It is very frustrating when someone asks for advice, agrees with the advice given and then does the opposite especially when that person then wants to complain about the results of the faulty decision to the good advice giver. This is why we have the phrase "I told you so, but you wouldn't listen" not that it helps. You can lead a man to knowledge but you can't make him think.

Indeed, you can give them the guidance. However, you just wonder about them being proven wrong time and time again and not listening. Perhaps they should try. Or perhaps they are just wanting to be proven right. That the law of averages will win out for them in the end. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I can definitely understand the frustration for sure, I mean we can only warn so much but sometimes experience is the best teacher. I didn't always listen to others, and yet other times I did listen, so I was a "good gurl and a bad gurl" so to speak, hehe. I think my daughter will be a stubborn lil' squirt, just like I was growing up. But you know, sometimes we need to step back and allow Life to teach our loved ones/friends a good harsh lesson. There's nothing bad about that, so don't feel guilty or bad. Life has a way of dealing with us stubborn mules, it's called Kharma :-)

Yes it does tend to do that. It is almost amusing, but only in an ironic way. Everything eventually comes around. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
