Happy Thursday Everyone! the sun is shining and the lawn crew are here mowing the grass. The dog is sitting by the door watching them. It's almost like she's checking to make sure they're doing a good job
My son is supposed to come this afternoon to put up the ceiling fan in my daughters bedroom. I think the fan will help (especially at night) and we won't have to keep the air conditioning working so much. I'm always looking for ways to save on our electric bill. I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom and it really does keep the room cooler.
He's also going to put some grab bars in my shower. With my knees giving me so much trouble, I need something to hold on to. Originally he wanted to replace the whole shower but I figured we should just go with the grab bars first. If that doesn't work then we can talk about a new one.
I don't have much to do today and I already know that dinner will be something easy.

I'm super lucky that he's able to do all the handy work. I can't imagine how much it would cost if I had to hire someone

I think ceiling fans are a Godsend. That is one thing I like about this house, they are in almost every room. Great for hot weather.

@snowy22315 when I was talking to my son about one for the living room he agreed that it would be a good idea. They have so many to choose from now that it would be decorative as well as functional.

The fan should help out alot, especially in the late spring and early autumn when the afternoons are warm but not the mornings or evenings, but there is still some warm air in the room. That is when we use ours the most.
We have a delightfully sunny, but cool day here today. Love that sunshine.

I'm hoping that the a/c won't need to be used as much as last summer. With the help of fans maybe we can set the a/c at a temperature that isn't too cold.

@LadyDuck a shower stool is a good idea. I used to have one for my mom and it was so much easier for her to shower or for me to help her.

I hope the grab bars help and your husband doesn't fall. That's what I'm so afraid of is losing my balance in the shower, falling and getting hurt.
It was much easier to take my shower this morning and have something steady to hold onto.

My shower is small and he was able to put in three grab bars (one in the front, one in the back and a longer one on the side wall). I'm so afraid of falling so this is going to be a big help.

Grab bar is a good idea. We got few placed in the bathroom for my mother in law. It is a big help and support for bad knees.
I too would do everything that can bring down the electricity bill. It is good for our pocket as well as for our environment.

That's what I'm hoping for. Last summer we ran the a/c a lot so this summer I'm hoping the fan can help cut back on the electric bill. Once the a/c cools off the house, the fans can keep it cool.
