I got to see Louis and Lucy last night! Do any of your friends have pets that visit with you?

I went and played music with my harmonica-playing friend John last night. I was greeted at the gate by the brown lab, a relatively new addition to the family. The lab and Louis, their three-legged pit bull, always argue, so John's wife had Louis and Lucy with her. Lucy is their chi mix. Later in the evening, John's wife (Penny) appeared at the door. The lab went inside and Louis ad Lucy appeared! I hadn't seen them in over a year, but they recognized me and gave me a wet greeting. I gave them some good scratches, and then they settled on on the couch with me as John and I did another tune. Finally, they went over to "their" couch and fell asleep. John is one of my "chillest" friends, and it shows in all of their rescue pets. They are sweet animals. Do your friends have pets that you "check in" with when you go to their houses?

@TheHorse The name of Retriever of my niece was "Winnie", she was a sweet dog and she loved my husband, who hates to be licked by dogs.

@LadyDuck Heh. I accept being licked by dogs. I'm just glad to be "liked."

I like retrievers. They have "soft mouths" and are generally good with kids.

That's so sweet. Yes, I have lots of fur baby friends here. I get a few wet greetings. One lies on her back expecting a belly rub, others will insist on a few scratches around the ears and a good petting before they go out to do their business or when they return.

@just4him He's such a good boy. I can see more grey in his muzzle now, but he can still jump up on the couch.

@TheHorse ........The couple have about 8 animals. That's a lot to take care of. The name is something like Lobo or something. I enjoy watching them.

@celticeagle Doesn't " lobo" mean wolf in some language or another? Maybe Spanish . I only speak about 30 words of Spanish.

My husband's second cousin always brings her Pomeranian to our house and his 3rd cousin (our housekeeper) brings her pit bull. I love dogs so I don't mind. Have a good weekend.

Pit bulls have a bad reputation, but most of the ones I've met are sweet. Perhaps that is because I mostly hand out with hoomins that are kind.

@LindaOHio I wouldn't trust them alone with children either.

It sounds like you had a lovely evening filled with music and furry friends! It's heartwarming to hear about your reunion with Louis and Lucy, and how they remembered you after so long. It must have been nice to spend time with John and his relaxed vibe, surrounded by such sweet rescue pets. Thanks for sharing this heartwarming story!

It was fun. We (John and I) actually talked about getting together with our friend who plays wood flute.

I don´t have friends with pets anymore. It is probably because I have few friends and many live in apartments. The last amazing fried´s pet I met was Sombra. She was Andrés´ dog. She was born in Ecuador, brought here when Ruthie and Andrés came before going to live in Australia. Sombra is the best there is. In fact, now that she lives in Australia, she has a diploma as a hospital dog to work with the elderly. She is the only dog that makes me think that she could be more intelligent than Luna. I´d say hello to her first if she were here. And when I see pictures of the family in FB, I spend more time "talking" with her.
