Officials with the Arizona Humane Society received from a concerned person who brought in two small animals that were seen abandoned in the back of their shed in Scottsdale Arizona on Wednesday. The two small animals that appeared to be kittens were really small foxes. The small foxes will be taken care of by the officials at the animal shelter until they are mature enough to live in the forest. The officials of the Arizona Humane Society are asking people to leave baby animals alone since the mothers of the baby animals can take care of their children without interference of humans. Several times in my animal rescue life, people have brought in coyotes they found, thinking they were puppies. Puts more work on the wildlife rehabilitation program, but they were always sure they were helping the animals. If you find wild animals, leave them alone for awhile, especially bunnies. Mama bunny only comes by to feed them only twice a day.

Funny! I hope they get to live good fox lives. I have rarely seen foxes in the wild.

@Deepizzaguy I see something cat-like in foxes. I last saw foxes up in Montana.

It is funny indeed that the baby foxes were confused to kittens.

In the spring, red foxes come into the cities and towns here. They come to have their babies, supposedly hiding them from coyotes, which Illinois has way too many of. Driving home last night, I saw three mama foxes.

Me too! They should take them right back to where they were found to reunite with their mother.

@dfollin It depends on how long they were gone from where they were found. If mama came back and they were gone, she often does not return again.

It happens more and more, people cannot make the difference from wild animals and kittens.

@Deepizzaguy Looking at this photo it seems more than evident that this is NOT a cat, look at his nose.

I guess animals like humans can be confused since they look alike.

Yes. Mother has to go hunt. Once we saw our cat facing off with another "cat" in the yard. Turns out it was a baby fox. It was as big as our adult cat by then. They usually have a den near us. Saw two babies today (bigger than the one in your picture) They sat while we stopped the car and looked at them. As soon as I opened my window they both dived into the den. So cute.

@Deepizzaguy hope the parents do not come back looking for their babies. That would be nice if the babies could be reunited with their parents.

The person had a good intention to help the animals. He/she mistook them to be kittens. They are too young to be away from mom. I hope that they have s way to get them reunited to their mom soon. Will leaving them back on the same spot help?

The person found the foxes on their property, so in a way, it was good that they were removed from the property, as most people would not like their house, and surrounds, to be used by breeding foxes in this way. Their chickens might not like it, for one thing. Foxes are a real problem here in Australia, ever since the British released them here for sport, many moons ago. They are everywhere, and kill our native birds, and small animals too. My neighbour, in a suburban area, with a small yard, had some chooks in his backyard, which were all killed by foxes.
