A male person has to be crazy to attempt to take a selfie after he climbed a Portland General Electric tower on Wednesday afternoon when he stepped on a power line that had around 57,000 volts of electricity that knocked down the man who fell 40 feet into bushes below along railroad tracks. An off-duty paramedic was in the area of the incident told firefighters that the victim was awake and breathing which amazed the paramedic since the shock of the powerline would normally end a person's life. The selfie victim was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital in Portland to be treated for his injuries. The condition of the accident is not known at this time. Hopefully the person who attempted to take the selfie will learn his lesson not to risk his life talking selfies in dangerous places again. Link is firehouse.com/operations-tra...

That is what I am wondering what goes through the mind of some people risking their lives just to take a selfie.

@HaruLoid I know what you mean since some persons on social media are rude and mean on the site when they disagree with me.

That is what the first responders were saying that the man is lucky to be alive after he was shocked by the wire.

I am afraid of heights so this is a scary story. He was probably unconscious going the 40 feet but it still makes me a little woosy. I hope he is okay.

That is one shocking story. The guy was very lucky to survive both the shock, and the fall.

What in the world got into his mind to actually take a selfie photo that high and at the top of a very dangerous structure at that! I'm starting to think that this is one of the negative effects of social media platforms. Wanting to gain more like, followers, sharers, and to be popular, then decided to climb there just to take a selfie. Its just ridiculous!
