Birdhouse Camera Catcher

My sister and brother-in-law got a really cool thing for their backyard. It has a camera at a bird feeder (with sound), and it catches the bird (and naughty squirrels) eating, but it also identifies the bird on the camera. They got a Cardinal (pretty easy to identify) the other day, and boy was it beautiful! The squirrel you see was there a good hour according to my brother-in-law (and left much fatter). They wanted to get one for my dad and stepmom (they love watching the birds), but they didn’t think they wanted to bother with it. But it’s so cool to me!

That is cool. Do you know where they got it? Leave it to the squirrels to wipe out the seed.

@AmbiePam Nice, I was trying to take a pic of a cardinal the other day, by the time I got close enough with my phone cam and of course by the time I got up there it flew off.

What a great gift for birdwatching. I would really enjoy one of those. Especially being able to identify the various birds who visit. The squirrels not so much.

Yes, those darn squirrels get in the way, for sure! And it comes with everything from camera to birdhouse to birdseed. It’s such fun to get a look one would never see otherwise.

@AmbiePam Do hummingbirds come to your area. We have a humming bird feeder attached to the window. We can see them up close and you don't need a yard!

Ohhh, that really is cool - I would love to have that! I like that it actually identifies the bird . . . I often have no clue except to say the general name for them . . . this would cut out a lot of homework

Well, this camera came with a birdhouse too, so it was $169. However, I know you can find just the camera much cheaper.
