No money out of pocket.

This morning I ran off a gift card for $50.00. Went to Walmart and spend exactly $50.00 on stuff so no money out of pocket. That was great.
We needed some Over the counter stuff from Walgreen's so we got three items and used the insurance card and paid nothing out of our pocket at Walgreen's.
Now who could ask for anything more.
I have found no garage stores or Flea Markets yet. I hope I do before Friday. It was in the 70's here today which was really nice.

I always end up spending a little out-of-pocket. It's rare I can use a giftcard. And, not go over. I'm glad that you did.

@jstory07 George and I have tried to do that, but then there's taxes.

You need to be clever to spend exactly the amount of a gift card.
Sometimes, I am annoyed, as I spend $49 on a $50 card, and so $1 is left over. I thought I was being clever and adding it up as I went, but I must have added wrongly...lol...
When that happens, I usually grab a chocolate bar from the counter to take my purchase over the $50 mark again.

@jstory07 I suppose so, but if I spend it in a supermarket on small items, I still need to keep a bit of a running total going in my head, to assess if I have spent the whole $50, or not.

I went into Wal Mart one time with 5 gift cards with small amounts left on them. My order was somewhere in the thirty something range. I can't remember because this was around 2 years ago. I was so proud of myself for being so smart and not throwing away cards that only had a little over a dollar on them. This was the case with 2 of the gift cards. However, Wal Mart will not let anyone do this anymore. You can only use one gift card at the time now. At least that is how the WalMart near me operates now.
Glad you were able to not have to go out of pocket.

Nice! It's hard not to have to cover with out of pocket money sometimes.

I have already planted all my vegetables, catnip, cat grass and wild flowers. Just waiting for them to come up.

I like when stuff like that happens. I am good at getting things pretty close to the penny as well when I try. Another thing I am good at is estimating how much a grocery order will cost before I get to the register even if I have a cart full.
