Saying goodnight.

Today went well enough. George put up a little fight with his peg tube, but when I do the last one for the night he's all for it. He chose it over actual food the last two days. As long as he gets the netrution that's all that matters. There's always tomorrow to offer him actual food. Vvy steps. One step forward, two back as they say. George is getting there. I'm getting tired, so time to say night.

One step forward and two back for sure. The insurance company wants to throw my husband out of the rehab facility tomorrow. They give you so much notice. Have a good day.

To be fair, rehab is a short-term satulition. If that's the case, he might get a month or two of home health. Meaning he would get people coming to the house to do therapy and stuff. And, no use fighting it, really. I don't think it benifits anyone.

@LindaOHio And, that can get costly. As for not being able to get up on his own, do you mean he needs the nurses to pull him to his feet, or do you mean he needs supervision if he wants to use the restroom? If that's the latter, then it's a rehab/hospital safety thing and will continue for as long as he is there. If it's the former, he could still come home. He would just need a bedsite restroom and you to help him. He won't be back to perfect when he does get released. Far from it. He'll have his share of struggles going from a controlled environment back to his normal life. George Can walk to the bathroom, but I still wound up mopping up a few spills when he first came home. I also, literally, picked him up off the floor a time or two as well.

@kaylachan He can't come home because he can't get up by himself to go to the bathroom, etc. He's not ready. Filed another appeal. If we lose, we go on self-pay again.

I am sorry that George had a fight with his peg tube. I imagine that a lot of patience is needed.

No, it's usually me fighting him to get it done.

It's a testing time for the patience. Isn't it. One step forward and two back..I keep facing that with my younger daughter( she has Autism). But then we keep clinging on to our faith. It happens slowly..we will reach there . Take care. Sleep well.
