This is what I'm painting today.

Above is the painting I'm doing today. This little dog belonged to a lady called Lee who went to the art class last year. I'm going to take it with me to the art class and if she's there I'm going to give it to her as a present. On Monday and Tuesday of this week I was drawing it using measuring like with the wolf. But after I'd drawn it I realised it was wrong. I'd been measuring from a drawing I'd done in a sketch book instead of the photo, and the drawing in the sketch book had been out of proportion in the first place resulting in the main drawing being out of proportion! So I started again from scratch, this time using the actual photo as a reference and not the drawing in the sketch book. So today I started on the actual painting. I tested out some colours first to see what would be best for the background. The background is wooden floor boards. So then I painted that and let it dry. While the background was drying and went to phone the taxi to book it up for next week. I phoned a different taxi firm this time, it's called 247 Cars. It was definitely not a Pakistani who answered the phone! This person had a very broad Birmingham accent! So I told her (or him, but I think it was a her. It was hard to tell!) that I was enquiring about the cost of a taxi to Wall Village Hall. I told her (I'll say her to avoid confusion) all the details and that I wanted it for 12 weeks starting next week the 9 May at 1:30pm from my house and then 5:00pm to take me home again. She was trying to work out when that would end. (It's July 25). She said Is that every day? and I said, Oh, no, just the Thursday. She said it would be £7.80 each way. The other firm was charging me £10! That is ofcause if they don't change their mind when we get there, because that's what happened last year! They quoted me £7 over the phone but then said £10 when we got there because he said it was further than he thought it was! So it's not set in stone, but we'll see. So that's all booked in now. After that I had my lunch and watched some classic EastEnders on the Drama channel. I washed up and then went back to carry on with my painting. I did the eyes, nose and mouth next. They didn't take long to dry and while they were drying I painted in her body and her legs. Then when the eyes, nose and mouth were dry I painted the head. Now I'm waiting for that to dry before I pur in some shading. I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.
