Earlier I was helping Eli with poetry homework and learned that I could use a refresher course myself. I'm good at poetry, but remembering all the formal rules is more complicated than you'd think. I prefer the Robin Williams as John Keating (Dead Poets Society -1989) approach. That approach focuses more on writing from the heart than some rigid formula.

I write poetry too but I don't follow formal rules. I focus on the ideas. However, I try to be as musical as possible.
