Have you heard about Atom? This is an app developed by James Clear and it teaches anyone dealing with bad habits step by step procedures to break them and develop new and healthier habits. This app can be downloaded on IOS, Android and Windows app places.

I do certainly believe that we can break bad habits on our own. Great discipline and awareness is what is highly required when doing it. Although I do understand that some will still have difficulties on doing this on their own, so probably that application would best work for them.

I have read James Clear's book "Atomic Habits". I liked his habit stacking idea. Though it only works when someone has a strong reason to establish or break said habit. Most of the habit building apps I have seen are variations of "not breaking the chain".
