Some more drawings I've done ready to paint.

This is one of two more drawings that I've done ready to paint. I think it's a humming bird and it's going after the berries.
I've drawn it on a square canvas, even though the reference photo is a regular photo shape! So I had to squash the picture into the square shape! This means the wings aren't as stretched out as they should be really.
After I'd drawn the actual bird, I drew the plant with the berries with the stems hanging down.
After I'd drawn that, I drew another picture, again on a square canvas. This time it was a bowl of apples, and a vase of flowers. I had to squash the bowl and vase in horizontally, but had to stretch them out a bit vertically, so I think the picture may be a bit distorted!
I will try and paint one if not both of them on Thursday, or a bit of each. We'll see how it goes.
What are you lot getting up to?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

@sharonelton Thanks that would be great! Have you decided the colors for your painting?
I like the normal working days, it's a quiet week after the Easter, most people are on holidays and I can focus better.

@besweet Well, I'm going to keep it true to the reference photo, so a kind of mauve background, white for the wings of the bird, with bits in shadow. A burgundy body. Black and white on the head. The berries are a kind of peachy colour.
That sounds good. I like it when it's quiet too.

nice picture. I have been thinking of trying a new craft. It's called needle felting. I haven't ordered the kit yet. I also need to get a skort and a frame for a diamond painting I am doing next.

You mean not draw out the picture first? Some artists do it that way, others like to drawn it out first. I don't know wether this painting would have been any good if I'd just taken paint to canvas without drawing it out first. The bird would not have been very detailed and I don't know if I'd have been able to get the proportions right.
