I eat corn on the cob fairly often in the summer because it is pretty cheap and tastes delicious. Food Lion had 4 ears for a dollar for the Mem Day holiday. It is always dirt cheap on the summer holidays. By the time Labor Day...

Once again, this place I live is infested outside with fleas. This year is worse so far because this new company has not had anyone spray the lawns. But even so, it never worked past years and DaisyMae gets fleas every year here....

Tom and I have been ordering from Jersey Mike's for several years. He loves the Big Kahuna, and I usually get the Italian. Tonight, I ordered on line, but forgot to push the enter twice. LOL
No order when I got there. I won't go...

CAPirani Photography & Art If it has been great for years and then you have one bad experience, maybe it is not a reason to avoid going there again. Everyone has a bad day. But then that manager sounded like she either had a really bad day or is just not a nice person. Or maybe really...

The pellet burner kicked on last night. It got down in the fifties F overnight. We are back in the sixties now and will warm up some more. But I think I will take a hoodie with me to the auction.
Not planning on doing much...

CAPirani Photography & Art Same here, but I don't feel cold. My A/C has been on all the time. Just decided today since it is cool enough out to turn it off and open the windows. It isn't supposed to get hot enough to make it hot inside. I just don't do well with it too hot inside or...

CAPirani Photography & Art I haven't had fresh green beans in years. My mom and I always cooked them together with new potatoes and ham or bacon. I forget about getting it most years since I am pretty much stuck at home all the time. But if I don't get at least one dozen ears of corn...

CAPirani Photography & Art Corn on the cob is not cheap in my book. I never buy it from the store because that is even more expensive. The only place I will buy corn on the cob is from farmers themselves who used to set up roadside stands in the summer. There are also farmer's markets...

I wait until the broth is boiling and then I cook there an egg. I just bought a very good utensil with holes so that I can fish the egg first and then add broth into the mug with a dipper.
I thought that I would also make a...

CAPirani Photography & Art This makes me think of chicken egg soup which is very good. I used to make it but have not in many years. It is basically boiled chicken broth, and you very slowly pour scrambled eggs into the broth while slowly stirring the broth, so the egg scatters in the...

Tonight my mom cooked fish. The taste of the fish is very weird. We were sure the fish was fresh and alive when a neighbor caught it. It is called trout. The taste is very muddy. I haven't eaten something like this before. The...

CAPirani Photography & Art The only fish I know of that has a reputation for a muddy taste is catfish. I have had trout before, and it was very steak-like and very good. I would love to have trout again. It was not muddy and freshly caught by my husband. Even if a fish is freshly...

CAPirani Photography & Art Freezing rain is in the winter, sometimes late fall or early spring, anytime the temperature is near the freezing point. It comes down as rain but hits the ground freezing immediately, making roads very slick and dangerous. It also weighs down tree limbs and...
