5/6/24 - Update on My Husband

My husband's roommate is in the hospital; so he's had a break from the loud TV. Nothing else going on. He still wants to be transferred to the other facility; so I will check with them this morning and see if they have any openings.
I will wait with great interest to see what kind of physical therapy my hubby gets this week.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts.

Yes. He's supposed to be back in rehab in the next day or two.

I'm praying your husband will finally get the PT he needs. I'm sure that's a great relief to have some peace and quiet.

@LindaOHio Oh dear. I'm glad for her, but can't someone help her to get closed captions on her TV, so the volume won't have to be so terribly loud?

@1creekgirl I think he's a permanent resident. I doubt we will rock the boat for as long as my husband will remain there.

You mentioned he has exercises to do in bed when he doesn't see the therapists. Have you asked if he is actually doing them? Is he participating in his own recovery, or feeling kind of apathetic about it all? Often the mental attitude is everything.

If he doesn't do what they say, he may not get better unfortunately. He probably needs somebody to be there as a cheerleader. It might help for you to call him daily and remind him about what he needs to do to come home.

@snowy22315 I can't call him. He calls me every day and I applaud his efforts. He walked a record distance today and is quite proud of himself.

I feel sorry for the roomate. While your husband might be getting a well-deserved break, it's not good to take a step backwards.

I’m sorry the roommate had to go to the hospital. (Hopefully they’ll change the batteries in his hearing aids while he’s there.)

Hope that he can get a better facility soon. Though I am not happy about someone getting hospitalized, it would give some peace to your husband. Prayers and thoughts for you and your husband

I'm sure you husband will enjoy some quiet while his roommate is in the hospital. I hope the roommate is okay.
Here's hoping you can get that transfer to the other facility for your hubby.
