How often do you eat French fries?

I eat french fries sometimes. I eat them without ketchup or anything. But if I am eating them every 6 months or so I will have to pay a price for it. The price is severe abdominal pain and I have to take medication. I prefer to avoid French fries as much as possible. I am eating everything boiled. I wonder why they are called French fries. Are they French? This is weird. Do you eat them often? If I were healthy I would eat them at least once a month. I think they are so tasty.

NO French fries are not French and only Americans call them "French fries", British call them "chips", Italian simply fried potatoes as well as French do. I do not eat them often, may be once a month.
The reason why Americans call them French fries is because during World War I, American soldiers stationed in Belgium discovered these tasty potatoes. In the south of Belgium people speak French, so they called them French fries..

I think they were invented in Belgium.
I don't have fries often either, we usually avoid frying stuff at home and they aren't my first choice when I order at restaurants. Unless it's McDonalds, of course. Yet I love them and I feel quite great after eating them, it might be the salt.

@LadyDuck Oh I see, thanks for clarifying! Sort of reminds me of Olivier Salad, but that's even worse, like no country wants to take ownership of that recipe.

@sabtraversa I think it's from traditional Russian cuisine. Carbonara also was created for American troops. It comes from "pasta cacio e ovo" where there was no "bacon" (pancetta). Americans wanted to add more, and so Carbonara was born.

It's wise to listen to your body and avoid foods that cause discomfort, like French fries for you. It sounds like you've found a healthier alternative by opting for boiled foods instead. I rarely eat french fries because I only have it when I eat at a fast food restaurant.

@dya80dya Have you tried experimenting with herbs and spices to add some flavor to your boiled foods? Something simple like a sprinkle of fresh herbs or a dash of your favorite spice mix can really make a big difference. Keep up the great work on prioritizing your health!

I love my French fries but I don't eat them often. Let's say those fast food fried fries, I eat them maybe once or twice every two months or so. But potatoes are a staple at home so I have them in other ways like baked. We make our own fries too and its air fried or baked so little to no oil and I don't season them with too much salt so its a healthier way of eating my fries.

@dya80dya Yes, a lot easier and convenient in my personal experience. Instead of frying in oil, the air fryer gives almost the same result with little to no oil used, so you save on oil and its healthier that way too.
