Kindle Finds

I mentioned in a post earlier in the week that I had dug up my old Kindle and decided to start incorporating reading into my routine again. Well I was blessed with three free months of Kindle Unlimited when I set the device up and linked in with my Amazon prime account. So I spent about fifteen minutes the other night looking through some titles available to Kindle Unlimited subscribers. And found three books that looked interesting to me. I've been doing a lot of reading on the Amish, and just all the ugly sides of it. There's been a lot of escaping the Amish videos in my feed on TikTok so it's been becoming a growing interest with me. I know there are many avid readers here on myLot so I thought I would share the three books I found and I will let everybody know how I like the books once I've read them. Sorry the collage of book covers isn't the greatest, I forgot to charge my two in one last night and it died after my last post and I had to put it on the charger so I did this post on my Kindle. I highly doubt anyone has read/heard of any of these books, but on the off chance you have, how did you like them?

Many of us here in the US live in close proximity to Amish families. I am not far from Arthur and Arcola IL. which has a huge Amish population and many Amish/Mennonite businesses and families. When I grocery shop, or go to Target, etc. I usually see them shopping. They hire van drivers to bring them here, it's about 35 miles one way. They also flock the Hobby Lobby store for their fabrics, etc. Close to where I used to live in southern IL., there is an Amish/Mennonite community, also. They have spread out way more than they ever have before. I love books, but I like reading an actual book. I am always reading. It's good, we learn, and it's relaxing. Good for you, you need to have ways to relax!

There is a small Amish community near us. I am not exactly sure where, but there is a store about 25 minutes but they sell the cheese and butter and other products that the Amish families make. I have visited the colonies or whatever they call their communities in Pennsylvania. The PA Dutch. It was fun. I don't have the space to have a bunch of real books where we are currently living. Hence the Kindle. It will def come in handy tomorrow when we have a five hour drive.

@thislittlepennyearns It surely will come in handy. I wish you didn't have to make the drive, I am sure you are more than tired of it. Take good care...maybe you can take a nap on the way!

@thislittlepennyearns I don't know much about how they raise their kids.

@JudyEv It's creepy and kind of like a cult. From everything that I have read and researched in the past.

Am I going to have to keep you from infiltrating the Amish?

Possibly. I mean you told me I should have a reality show. Sooooooooo, this might be the way to do it.

I have been wanting to read The American Roomate Experiment. Abandoned Prayers might be a bit dark. I may try it. I didn't know it was on Kindle Unlimited. I like the cozy mysteries on Kindle Unlimited the best. Have you finished any of these yet?
