Did anyone here see the race yesterday? I didn't,but I was just reading that the fans at Talledega were not very happy that Gordon passed the career wins of Dale Ernhart,SR. at that track. The article says that they threw beer cans at the car and lots of debris onto the track. Dale JR. had told him that if he won,he wasn't coming to talk to him as he did when Gordon tied the record because the fans didn't like it. I say that Gordon done a good job of showing respect for Dale Sr. last week and that he has been a gret sportsman about the whole thing. He deserved more respect than what they gave him. It wasn't that he planned for it to be that track that he beat the record at, but fitting I would say. What do you think?

I agree, Gordon showed a lot of respect for Sr. I find that very special. I don't however, like the fact that people were so fired up at him for doing that. This is a sport it's not a gambling race. Ok, I know I don't make sense but stil, Gordon was cool for what he did and he deserves respect.

I agree with you. I can't believe that people were mad over him making the lap with the number 3 flag last week. He could have not recognized Ernhart at all, but he felt compelled to do something to show that he realized that he had done something that few racers do and yet, he gets put down for it. I personally never cared for Ernhart and I don't like Jr. but I think that Jr. should stick up for Gordon on this one.

Jeff Gordan is one of the best there ever was and he went ahead and sealed the deal at Talledega . This puts him at number 6 on the all time win list with number 77 in the bank . Now ,could he ever get to the 200 bench mark that Richard Petty has set....not likely ,However I believe Donny Allison sits at number 2 with 105 wins .Let's see 105-77=28 Most modern era drivers retire around the age of 49 .Jeff Gordan is only 35 years old .So let's see 49-35=14 Why don't we add it up .14 years to go and only 28 wins needed that's just an average of 2 wins per year to become number 2 on the all time list . HEY !! Race fans wake up . Dale Sr.new that "The Kid" would be great..was even his mentor .Why don't you all except the facts and stop throwing S*&^* all over the track .

I agree with you 100% and I am glad that you commented on this with what you did. I think Gordon is a great racecar driver and I think that he will have several more wins before his career is over. He has a great team and a good car and should be able to win several this season.
