it always happen when someone to tell you which item to select then they always use they finger to touch the screen to indicated it. this can make a finger print on the monitor each time it was touched. if you friend did this are you allowed it?

This is one of my pet hates. I really hate the idea of someone touching the screen, or even worse pointing very close to the screen with a ball point pen in their hand. It never ceases to amaze me how careless and thoughtless people can be.

I am engaging in desk top publishing work and I get scores of customers who sit beside me to watch me keying. At times they do want to show something and they use the finger on the monitor and therefore it is my duty to clean the screen everyday.

I never minded friends touching my screen when I had CTR screen that was glass but now that I have a flat screen LCD monitor I get very particular about letting any hands get close to it. I just get the feeling that they will tear the screen somehow. I play guitar and sometimes my finger nails get pretty long on my right hand for picking. They also get pretty sharp so I would never touch my screen or anyone else's and I don't want them touching mine either.

That is a pet peeve of mine. Kids (as much as I love them) are the worst. Let a couple of kids use your computer for a few minutes and you will come back to a huge smear!

yes, this is okay. If you don't allow it you can always tell them to clean it when they leave a finger print. But buying a laptop screen protector would minimize the finger prints or scratches anything could cause it.
