Free Will And A Supreme God/dess

I do not know of one religion that does not believe in a God/dess that is superior to the believers. Some religions go so far as to say that their God/dess are omnipotent or absolute power. These omnipotent deities can by definition do anything they wish. Yet we the believers in such a deity have free will. Now I must be honest some do not believe in free will, they believe in predestination. Predestination fits perfectly with in the omnipotent deity model, but also mean the your deity is just a puppet master and is the cause of all the worlds suffering. Also how can you sin if you have no control over your actions. If you were predestined to murder then how is that really your fault, blame the puppet master not the puppet. So logically we move make to the free will stand point, since to sin you must have free will to make a choice. Yet the problem is we still have this floating orb of absolute power who has the power to make us do anything he/she/ them want us to do. Maybe they choose not to, but how do we now when they choose not to and when they choose to?

But the problem is your God has made people do things, maybe against their will. Take for instance Pharaoh's heart being harden by God in Exodus 4:21, 7:3, 7:13, 9:12, 10:1, 10:20, 11:10, 14:4, 14:8, and 14:17. To me that does not sound like free will. You have a case of a supreme being over powering the will of a mortal. For a New Testament perceptive go to Romans 8:29-30 For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.

The problem is, we people tend to ignore or forget that God is our Creator. Who are we (creature) to question his Creator. The Holy Bible could only be understand when his spiritual/mind is open to God's Words by accepting the facts and not our own justification.

Well, if God is outside time then he is able to see all history as continually present, from his perspective things would seem predestined without in any way meaning that individuals were not fully autonomous

If thats what one believes...For me PERSONALLY that isnt how it works. Yes I believe in an Ultimate power/being/whatever but that being isnt involved with us. so for me the ONLY one who makes me do anything is me...And as much as I do believe that life is already decided for us, again its US that makes that choice/those choices BEFORE we are born into each life..
We ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will have the choice and make the decisions in our lives..

The God of Organized Religion is by definition, a Demanding, Frightening, Vengeful, and Fearsome Deity. Worshipers need fear, threats, and dire warnings so as not to forget to tithe.This Scam has worked well for almost 2000 years, and there is no reason to change anything. The Church of Organized Religion is by far the richest, non-taxed, business organization, on earth.This God demands Money!
The God of Spiritual people is a God of Love, a God of Absolute Love which demands Absolutely Nothing in Return. Spiritual love is so consummate that sins are forgiven before they are committed. What could be freer than that?

No man can answer this question, only guesses. Only God can say why God does what God does. Whatever the reason I'm sure its for our benefit, or they would be just like us, and someone as horrible as us, could not be a God at all.

This is great. I can see lots of thinking going on. We have total free will for one good reason. If we did not have free will, we could learn nothing. We would do the opposite of what we were forced to do as soon as we were free. Oh, but the story isn't that simple. God is setting the parameters of our life for the lessons we are to learn. God works around our free choices. Like all things with God. There is complexity for the genius is in His actions. Watch closer everyone. It stares us in the face. Can you see?? You will have to look beyond the surface. Got to look at the forest not just the trees.
