Did you ever received a fake not when exchanging money or when given change at a shop or restaurant. It happened to me twice. Once I was collecting money from students for photocopy services and I ended up with a Lm10 (ten Malta liri) fake note. I went at the bank and they deducted it from my total sum. They never issued a replacement for it. Another time it was a Lm2 (two malta liri). I was unsure if it was fake or note. I ended up paying with this note at the petrol station. Have you ever received a fake money note? Did you realise later it was fake? What did you do with it? Does your local authorities issue a replacement for it or it is you that will end up suffering the consequences?

hi! I have never received a fake note in my life, or maybe I didn't knew it, because someone gave it to me and i didn't knew it and gave it to someone else, of course not expressly. But my sister called me several days ago, and told me that someone has given her a fake note from 50 leva, about $30, because she works in a supermarket and the boos said to her, that she must give it back from her or she must quit. Here in my country there are so many people, mostly elderly, who have been lied from people with fake money and I am very sorry for them. I really hate those people who earn from the mistakes of others or even from their unhappiness/suffering and I can only wish them all the WORST in the world and never feel happy with those money

When I operated one of my canteen in the Ports I used to get fake money. The place was very busy with many people coming in and out and I can't possible scrutinize the big notes that I received. Only when I went to bank in the money that the bank teller notified me that there was a fake note among the bundle of cash. It happened to me twice and I am forced to buy money detector. I was quite lucky not to be apprehended by the police for trying to bank in fake money as I had a good relationship with the bank and they didn't make a police report. No the bank won't replace the fake money as it was my negligence for not being careful.

And here I was going to tell you about the 'out sick' note I faked when I was in third grade. But I see you're talking about money... No, I don't think I've ever gotten a counterfeit note myself. My husband works in a restaurant and he runs into them occasionally. Here in the US, the changes they have made to the money makes it harder to fake them though.

Here if you pass a fake bill you can be traced. That is to say, if the cashier knows what you look like, they can go back through the tape and find the person who gave the cashier the money. Now if it was a mistake and the person didn't know it was fake, I don't know what happens. As for replacing the money, no I don't think so... I'm not sure though.

Thankfully I've never received fake money, I don't think I'd be able to tell that it was fake, some people are so good at it, its hard to tell the difference, that's what I've heard anyway. I'm sure they won't issue you a replacement here either, I don't know what you would do, I guess you would just be out of money.

Yes, many years ago and now I have learned what to look for in USD. There is no replacement for that, either. The bank will confiscate it and it is your loss. It does not matter how you got it, it is fake and that is that. If they replaced that money, that would make no sense. It is not their fault that I was robbed.

Fortunately that has never happened to me. Here in Canada there are a lot of devices at the cash registers in stores and service industries, and at bank, that detect counterfit money. There are some small establishments that can't afford such technology, and because of this they don't take anything hither than a $20 bill. It always drives me nuts when someone pays me with a $50 or a $100, and I can't use it for anything.

So far, i'm quite lucky and have not encountered any fake notes yet.. haha =D If one happens to collect fake note, the loss will be quite big most of the time, because that's the way for those cheaters to get fast cash, in the shortest time.. haha =D Over here, i dun think the banks will issue a replacement for any fake notes we receive.. as such, it's our duty to check it, and report to the police if we suspect anything ^_^

I've been fortunate enough to never get a counterfeit bill. My country does not replace the bill--if you have one and attempt to spend it you are questioned. They won't arrest you if they are convinced you are innocent but you don't get reimbursed for it, that's you're bad luck. Even if you get it from a bank, you are just poorer by that much!

nonaldinu Just once way bac when I was in my early twenties and going to college at the u of S.Dak. I came across a twenty dolloar bill lying on the sidewalk on the campus. So I needed a few things. I decided to spend my newly found twenty Dollar bill. I bought a'new skirt which was on sale. While I waited the clerk excused herself to' make a phone call. She asked me to wait a minute, then here comes nice looking man a little older than myself. He pulled out hit Identification card, FBI. Oh my I gasped as the two of them asked me where I got this twenty dollar bill as it was counterfeit. I told them I had found it on the campus on Zee street. So after I made a c heck for the p urchase, the FBI agent drove me back to the c ampus as he wanted me to show him just where I had found the bill. I asked him if I was in any trouble as I had not known the bill was cou nterfeit. He told me of course I was in no trouble but one ot my co students was likely in a lot of trouble for making counterfeit money. f

I know I have heard different stories of people receiving fake money and I know it is hard to tell fake money from real money, especially since people are counterfitting one dollar bills and five dollar bills instead of just twenties, fifties, and hundreds, and I have never personally been given a fake bill but if I was I would be pissed and if I got it from a business I would take it back to wherever I got it and tell them it was fake, and if I got it from a friend or something I would kick their butt for it.
