So should the tv show Crossfire change its name? lest the host, producer and network be accused of inciting violence? :~D

Very well thank you...until I poked my head back in here and saw that the mice are still as blind as ever.

I just don't know what to say, Ted! I certainly "get" your joke but I can't believe none of the others who responded seem to be aware this show hasn't been on the air for years! If it was still on, there probably would be a call for a name change. Annie

When I first posted it, I didn't know it hasn't been on in years. Once it was pointed out to me, I wanted to see how long it took for someone to say something. If I ran a network and people didn't realize a show had been cancelled 5 years after the fact, I'd be worried about how much longer the network would exist. lol

I agree. I actually was a faithful viewer of Crossfire for years but it got to the point where BOTH sides kept yelling over each other and you couldn't hear or understand a thing any of them were saying! It's sad how CNN has gone downhill, in my opinion. I watch now and then, usually when I'm flipping back and forth through all the news networks when there's some kind of breaking news going on, but they tend to have more reruns than anything or anyone else. Also, people criticize Fox for being too far right and MSNBC for being too far left but CNN seems to be afraid to have anyone voice any opinion at all. Some may prefer that but given the way their ratings have been consistently dropping, not too many. Annie

No because they are a liberal show and we know that they do no wrong. CNN is the Most miss-trusted name in news. If they say it it must be true even if the fact prove differently.

I have never heard of that show but I see nothing wrong with the name. This "lack of free speech" has got to be stopped. Not everything is evil no matter what the name is. I know I am not making any sense but I just think the government is going too far telling us what we can and cannot do or say.

Oh, I have nothing against the name of the show either.. but then again, I'm not outraged (or even a bit bothered) by the use of the phrase "in the cross hairs" either.

Ok, forgive my response below. I am thinking I misunderstood the jest of this discussion. I have no problem with the use of the phrase"in the cross hairs" either. It means nothing to me...I don't care. Like I said...I think I just misunderstood the entire point of this discussion....sorry...erase my comments. ok?

I wonder if they're thinking about it. This has been taken way too far. Soon we'll all have to keep our mouths zipped tight for fear of inciting something!

I have to agree with dragon54u. Soon we will have to have permission to go to the bathroom if all this does not stop. I am thankful that I have the freedom of free speech but that is rapidly being taken away

Hiya Parated, Me neither I have never heard of this Show what is it about Political and General Affairs Discussions?. Each side then should be allowed to make their statement and stand on the matter without the other side butting in. Maybe they could change the name of the Show but if everyone is so used to the name Crossfire then the Audience I think will prefer that and stay with them if the modify the Program or Show itself. We have Programs or Show like that here too and they are having to change their way of being as they were getting out of hand. Way too much verbal abuse on both sides all you can hear is them screaming at each other.

Never saw this show but then again...don't watch much tv. What little I've watched if they are going to accuse any shows then they ought to go after them all. I've seen Jerry Springer a handful of times and that show is just disgusting and does incite violence from all I've seen. Maury Polvick(sp)...a little less obvious but the topic lines could incite violence. I don't really know any of the others but to go on national tv with dirty laundry or to air secrets withheld holds no other purpose but to raise emotions which could possibly lead to violence or inflict emotional harm to another person. Someone is making big money off from someone elses pain is about all it is.
