No it's not Christmas or summer.....it's "TAX TIME", not everybody loves "TAX TIME" especially if you owe but I always get money back so I love "TAX TIME". Do you do your own taxes and are you gonna treat yourself to something special with your refund? I will take a week of from work and see a couple concerts and do some shopping....... Like I said, it's my favorite time of year

So how does that work over in the USA ? You pay in advance tax, and when "tax time" comes they give you back some of it (as in they always take extra to make sure they take more not less ?) I ask because tax time in Romania means that you pay your tax then, and they tell you how much it is, and if you delay, you pay extra fees (but you will get a small discount if you pay in time) - there isn't really a chance to get anything back here.

It depends on a lot of different things, if you have kids, a house or if you single or married but either way they take so much out of your check every pat day and depending on (I'm not really sure what) you get money back or you have to pay

Federal and state income taxes are taken directly out of our paychecks by our employers. We're supposed to fill out a form when we're hired that lists our exemptions, which affect our tax rates. Some people claim fewer exemptions than they are allowed and get money back when they file their taxes, and some people have to pay because they had too little money withheld for taxes. There are also some tax credits that can mean that some people actually get back more money than they pay in taxes when they get their refunds... and you can deduct things like donations you made to charity and a bunch of other things if you itemize deductions instead of taking the standard deduction. It honestly confuses the heck out of me, so I just get the program and let it walk me through the paperwork and filing.

hi dear missybear its highest tax time over here in Germany, we have to do the taxpapers till End of May. Unfortunately I dont have the papers from my bank so I have to wait but I started filling out that paperwork already so its partly done. I dont like that and thats partly cause I dont get anything back but I owe taxes and that in spite of the fact I am the main breadwinner over here as my husband is disabled. see how much they want from me this year...... grrrrr......

That stinks, I never had to pay yet but if I didn't claim Scott i barely get back a couple hundred if that but that's still better than paying

Our financial year ends June 30th. I also get a refund but it goes straight into the bank to boost my budget account. This way, I always have money for a rainy day. Just bought me a (nearly) new car.

I did my taxes last Tuesday using TurboTax and free e-file so that I would have them in the queue to be among the first income tax returns that would be processed by the government. We should be getting our tax return back this Thursday, which is something that I am really excited about because we have been struggling financially for quite a while now. We are going to be doing some work on my husband's car and we are also going to make a couple improvements to our home. This is also hopefully going to be our little nest egg as well so that we don't have to worry about money the way that we've had to in the past.

I'm glad you're getting a refund and are able to get some things done that needed it. I will buy somethings for my apartment too, I need some new pictures to hang on the walls so that will be one of my home improvements.

Well for many people, unless you owe Taxes, this can be everyone's favorite time of yr. For most people since they are busy working it gives them something to look forward too for everything that they might have paid in. And when you have a home, and all the taxes, etc. a little something back is a plus for sure. I do my own Taxes, and we are planning on taking a trip again somewhere I think.

Well, you are very rare, if that is the case. Maybe you are a businesswoman. Well, good to hear and it is really beneficial with you because of that tax refund. Enjoy shopping.
