Would you go on a Carnival cruise after the horror of the crippled ship?

I was never thrilled with the idea of a cruise, although I know a lot of people who would love to go on one.
But in recent years, I have heard a lot of bad things about Carnival, and with this latest incident I don't think I would ever go with Carnival.
The passengers have disagreed with everything Carnival representatives have reported. Passengers claim that the ship stank, there was no running water, they were going to the bathroom in baggies because the toilets weren't working, there was no food.
What a horrible thing to go through. Of course Carnival is denying all this, but at least now that they have finally reached shore, they are paying the passenger's travel to get back to their homes.

dlkuku, hi there! where is this Carnival cruise? I have not heard of this yet. All my friends who have been to cruise ships have not said or shared anything as horrible as this. I would understand there are ships like this in the Philippines travelling from one port to another but those ARE NOT cruise ships so the least is expected of them. Tickets are cheap, and no free foods are offered and people know it so they travel prepared. :D hehe
I watch cruise ship diaries in nat geo.. i think i love it and they have a lot of food, drinks, they even have shows and have pool parties, sports in there.. it is not likely that all cruise ships are this horrible like what you describe.

Personally I don't like cruises, to me they are like floating prisons, you cannot escape, and there is nothing but sea all around you, but if I did like cruises it certainly wouldn't put me off hearing about the horror of the crippled ship, think of the amount of cruises there are, thousands and thousands each year, same with flying, the infinite amount of planes that take off and land every single second, and the odds of crashing or a cruiser sinking is extremely low. If your time is up, your times up!

cruise ships have been around for a number of years without any major incidents. Accidents do happen. Maybe these terrible cruiseship tragedies will bring about new stndards. carnival has had a good reputation and we should not blame everything on the cruisehip and never take a cruise again.

I have always dreamed of going on a cruise ship with my husband. I like the idea of traveling but with all the amenities of a hotel or a resort onboard. But after watching the news of the Carnival cruise, I am having second thoughts about going into one. Shouldn't they have some crisis management plan laid out? In traveling shouldn't that be the very first thing that they got covered? I am now wondering if other cruises will have some solid back up plans if things like this is to happen.
