Beach Baby or Mountain Maniac?

This is just something I have always been curious about! Especially since my last trip was to an island. I personally prefer the beach and love the sun, sand and waves. My husband and I took a 10 day trip to Thailand and we visited this stunning little island Koh Samed. It was truly a mini paradise on earth. Have you been to an island before? Do you prefer beaches to hilly areas? Are you a snow person or a beach baby? Just checking to see how many people think like me ??

My daughter used to live in Koh Phangan in Thailand and we visited her there. A lovely place. I prefer the beach and sea to mountains.

I prefer both. I love hiking and camping and going to the mountains. It makes me feel isolated and closer to God. I love the beach because I love the sun

@cxndie I love them both. When I was still single, me and my friends used to climb mountains. I love this particular mountain because start and end of the hike is a beach

@rakski wow now that would be something else. A beach with a mountain. Where is this place?

Yes! The sun! I love it too. Going up to the mountains makes me sick mostly... But when I'm there, its better. But I still prefer the beach.

I prefer tropical beaches and in the past it was easier to visit them. Other beaches are pleasant however the sight of gently waving palm trees and white sand is my top delight. I love to mix a tropical beach with an adventure. I went to Samoa, an island in the South Pacific, in 2002. It has pyramids in the rain forest. It was cool looking waterfalls and beautiful looking thatched buildings. It is my favorite country in the world. In 2004 I visited the Seychelles and it has lovely looking palm fringed islands. Then in 2005 I went to the Maldives. It has perfect looking little tropical islands that I could walk around in 10 minutes. Belize was a perfect destination for me in 2006. I stayed on an island which had amazing snorkeling. I also climbed Mayan ruins.

The Philippines is an island nation so reality is every Filipino in the Philippines is living in an island. I think we have 7,641 islands but we have 3 main ones.

Honestly, I would love to live on an island. You are lucky! Although I think the weather does get scary sometimes right?

@cxndie yes the islands are very beautiful, bigger islands always have a complete landscape of beaches, flat lands and mountains complete with a tropical rain forests or jungles and lots of fresh water. Summer is the best time to come and visit, monsoon season brings lots of rains and occasional typhoons that in a way we already learned to adapt, yes true it could be scary if you are unlucky to be on the direct path.

I'm a mountain maniac because I feel I'm closer to nature though I also love going to the beach.

Nature is great. One of the things I love about mountains are the beautiful waterfalls.

I love the beach sounds like waves and sea birds, so much so I bought a lighthouse ceramic thing about 6" tall and a plate of a masted ship sailing. I don't know why I love the beach sounds, but won't go into the ocean. It's a long story of how one day I felt something rub against my leg and it was sand papery. I dashed out of the water and haven't returned since...I was a little girl of about 5 then and now I'm going to be 65 years soon. I like babbling brooks if in the mountain area or waterfall area in the mountain area for I love the serene feeling babbling brooks or water flowing brings.
