Loving Your Work?

I'm working as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) right now, but I used to work as a food server, for 23 years. So I have had many experiences working as a waitress. I liked my job as a waitress and I think I was good at it.
But after 23 years I wanted to do something different. As a CNA now, I do appreciate and cherish my job. I get to work with amazing people and I get to spend time with my residents. Which is the best part of my job.
I really love being able to help people and to give them some enjoyment in their lives. I see my work as being very important in the well-being of nursing care. I care very much for my residents and want to make their lives better.
So do any of you want to share how your work really encourages you to do better and how you love your work?

I am so pleased you have chosen a new profession. It might not be financially rewarding but the personal satisfaction of making a difference to someones life outweighs that. I retired last year having spent 43 years as an RN as a clinical nurse specialist and l have to say l loved my job diagnosing and prescribing treatments for the patients l saw. It left a big void in my life and l remember it with pride and fondness. One of the biggest advantages you can have with your patients is to smile and be cheerful when you approach them they will be like putty in your hands!
