How do you enjoy avocados?

In Colombia, people often serve avocados in their daily meals. If you go to a restaurant here, most likely you will have some avocado on your plate. Some people add avocados in their food, drink, fries, or eat it by itself. What about you?

I seldom eat this fruit, especially I haven't found a perfect way to taste it.

In the first year I lived in Colombia, I couldn't eat any avocado on my plates. I found it weird for Colombian people to eat avocados along with their main dishes. But then I find it okay .

We usually eat it as dessert. Avocadoes with condensed milk and crushed/cubed ice. Yum!

@marguicha For sure. I only like Hass avocado. Once my friend used other kind of avocado which I don't know its name (but it is big and it has smooth green skin) to make guacamole. I didn't enjoy it because it was not creamy and had light flavor

@Shasha_ Not close by but a short ride will get me there. A friend got me some and I planted the seeds and now I have two huge saplings and hopefully they will start yielding in a year or two.

@allknowing Nice. Avocado tree can produce around 200 avocados every year. You will eat a lot of avocados soon.

@Shasha_. It is very hard to get it here. I dislike strong sour tasting food, so I am being cautious before buying one.

@Sojourn the texture is very creamy because it contains a lot of fat. The taste is not strong at all. Here is some food shops, they cheat by replacing avocados in avocado juice by zicchini. So i think that’s the closest description i could get you. Also. Unlike other fruits, it’s not very sweet, avocado juice does require adding some sugar unlike other natural fruit juices.

It looks yummy, but actually it doesn't use any spices other than salt, pepper and maybe a little tomato sauce.

Avocado toast is so popular here it is driven up the price of avocados overall. I have never had it that way though. Most often, I only eat an avocado in guacamole when I have Mexican food.

I enjoy eating avocados as simple as slicing them and pouring milk over it, with stevia to make it a little sweet.

That sounds good idea. It is so simple to have sliced avocados with some sweetener. We don't need to process it into like a smoothie.

Yes, sometimes I make Mexican guacamole out of Hass avocados, too. Guacamole in each country in South America is different one another, though.

Avocados are big in Latin American countries. India and my country (Indonesia) are the same. We don't really use avocados in our meals.

Eating avocado every now and then is considered a bit fancy here. I like it in a juice. I also like mixing it with a sugar free yogurt and ithee spicies like lemon n olive oil to make sauce for my pasta salad.
