I am not so Good at cooking but have improved a lot in my life and these days when I really need to cook I can cook and prepare food that at least I can have lol. But years ago when I tried for the first time I burnt Green Chillies, cumins and Onions lol and then I wasted the whole lot as it started tasting bitter. What Was Your First Cooking Experience?

Well, I had an Easy Bake Oven when I was four years old, but that was baking, and if you are talking strictly cooking, it was a casserole my mom used to make, and she taught me how to cook the meat, and add everything together when I was around eight. It took me a bit to get the sauce right, but I thought it tasted pretty good.

I was about 7 years old when I tried to cook a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. I left the pan on the stove with the sandwich in it and went to ask my mother, who was in the backyard when to turn it over. She rushed into the house and the kitchen was full of smoke. My sandwich was burned to a crisp and my mom's pan was ruined. It was several years before I tried cooking again.

When I was a child, my Mom taught me how to make poached eggs on toast, spaghetti and fudge. So, those three things were the beginning of my cooking experience.

If I remember rightly, it was beautifully made scrambled eggs in an iron cast pan. After that, it was home made fried chicken in the same iron cast pan. I was a good cook and still am. My sisters not so much.

I learned to fry eggs and hotdogs on first grade. I had to stand on a small stool so I could see the top of the stove.

My first cooking experience was when I was around eight years old. My mom was trying to teach me to cook biscuits. It is a messy job. I didn't want to get flour and dough all over my hands , so when it came time to shake the excess flour off before baking, I came up with a plan to avoid touching the raw biscuits. I decided to place the pan off biscuits on the top porch step and use the blow dryer to blow off the excess flour. When I did, it blew the biscuits off the pan and onto the ground and the dogs ran up and ate them. So, I have learned over the years that sometimes, you just have to deal with the messy in order to be a good cook.

I think I remembered when I make omelet when I was an elementary school kid. my mother guide me to do this and that. but my hand still can't lift the pan and flip the egg. it even got little burnt on the side of the omelet but keep eat it anyway. you know the failure on my cooking will keep progressing to cook the right way and the delicious way.
