The Sun, Fireball, and Phone Service Outage

Last night into early morning, thousands of smartphone customers lost services. Most media sources say that it was caused by a solar flare. At the same time, a huge fireball flew over several states. Someone in Pennsylvania captured a video of it. Some even suggested that it was a Russian nuclear test.
Is it possible that the fireball knocked out phone services? What do you think happened to the phone services?

@RebeccasFarm I am trying to be more careful about what I say online. It does not always work.

Solar flares do cause interruptions of service. I hadn't heard about the fireball. Could it have been the space junk that entered our atmosphere? Have a good weekend.

@akalinus There was a satellite that crashed to Earth; but I don't remember where it was.

@LindaOHio That's interesting. I think I heard something about it but not many details. Could that be what the fireball was?

@Happy2BeMe It is scary but sometimes it is exciting. This is a great time to be alive because we see so much history being made and never know what is next.

It's hard to say. I had my phone off last night so I didn't notice anything.

Short of my internet going down the night before last, I haven't had a problem with my phone. I still have bars. Must've resolved itself while I was sleeping.

Please forgive me for using your comment to add another link. MyLot will not let me post two at the same time.
The American Meteor Society received hundreds of reports across the Great Lakes, Northeast and mid-Atlantic on Wednesday evening of a fireball in the sky. When meteoroids enter Earth’s atmosphere, they are called meteors. Bright events are called fireball

I'm not sure. I'm just glad my phone started working again after around 8 hours not working yesterday.

I would not be surprised by anything at all these days. Maybe ET was heading home and took a wrong turn
