Trouble with utility bills payment

This morning I had time to visit the water office center because of an issue with the bill. It seems my last payment didn't go through their system and we would forced to pay double. I went back twice despite of the HOT weather and they found out the payment center wrongly input the account number. I didn't know that could happen. Then when I was no longer that busy, my brother texted me and said they got disconnected. He was able to pay online though but not sure if they had been reconnected on the same day. Yeah, were still old fashioned. We still pay manually, sometimes I just couldn't trust online payment. You know, hackers. Have a nice day

If you can do it manually, more power to you. But, the chances of your uitility company getting hacked or making mistakes is higher than if you were to do it from home. Hackers aren't interested in indivual accounts. They want something where they can get a lot of information with the least ammount of effort. Quite frankly a banks website is more vurnable because they can get people's money.

It sounds like there might be some fraud involved, on the company's side. Maybe some of the workers pay themselves instead of putting it toward your bill.

I hope you got it straightened out. Friday I also had utility bill issue. I was switching the power bill to my name instead of my uncle's name.

At least from there i know when people messd up. with online you can only talk to customer service.
