The pharmacy at our shopping centre opens today

A small shopping centre has started up near our village. There is an IGA, a pharmacy, a medical centre, a beauty salon and soon we’ll have a Mexican takeaway/café there too.
At the fashion parade held this week in our clubhouse, the chemist was very generous with donations for raffles and many of our residents already speak very highly of him and his staff. He spoke to us for a few minutes before the fashion parade started and got a great reception from many of the ladies as the store has been open for quite a few weeks already.
Today is the ‘official’ opening of the pharmacy and Vince is going up later to take photos of him and his staff.

@JudyEv I can relate! You see some of that kind of stuff on mylot too..although to be honest, some seems quite justified!

@snowy22315 There are people battling crippling illnesses etc and some complain because the newspaper wasn't delivered on time (or whatever). And yes, FB can get very nasty.

I'm glad the pharmacy has its official opening today. It sounds like everyone is happy and excited about the pharmacy and the other shops in the shopping center. I hope Vince gets many good pictures of it.
You all look wonderful in the picture. I'm glad the fashion parade was a wonderful event.

Nice picture of the gathering.
Shopping centre with takeaways and Pharmacy is a very good and useful idea.
At least for a few things, one need not go far away.
Such stores help a lot in such cases.

Something similar is planned in India.
Online Ecom giants like Amazon, Flipkart (Indian homegrown big Ecom brand, now majorly owned by Amazon rival Walmart) and more have begun to dominate overall retail.
So the offline stores have started planning their Business Tie ups to counter the online ones.

There is a medical practice on the first floor and soon a take-away Mexican cafe will open.
IGA stands for Independent Grocers of Australia. It began in 1926 and is aimed at helping family-owned and/or small businesses. Joining together under one name gives them better purchasing power.
I've just learned that IGA in the US stand for Independent Grocers' Alliance and isn't associated with the Australia chain.
