The GOP-led Arizona House has repealed an abortion ban from the 1800s

Way to catch up with the current events of the day. The Arizona state Supreme Court upheld basically a total ban on abortions last month and people in the state went nuts. Arizona Democrats tried twice to repeal the law and failed but today a few Republicans joined them to overturn it. The earliest the repeal can go into effect is June 8. Looks like a couple of GOP state reps realized that abortion is a losing issue for Republicans and recognized that Arizona is a state that will make a big difference in the 2024 election. Even MAGA nut election denier Kari Lake has backed off of endorsing a total abortion ban. Don't get me wrong--that's what she wants but she won't say that out loud while she is trying to win a Senate seat. Of course the rest of them are already trying to write legislation to produce another almost complete ban. These idiots never learn.

It's hard to imagine what other kinds of laws might be passed. If you ever thought about being a pistol-packing Mama as they say then you have to move to Tennessee they just passed a law letting teachers arm themselves

Of course it still has to pass in the Senate before it can actually be repealed. The House did not actually vote to repeal it, they voted to state their opinion they wanted it repealed. Senate agrees, okay, Senate doesn't agree, things stay the same.
