Jay is Going to His Father's Funeral

Two weeks ago tomorrow, Jay attended the funeral of his second oldest sister, Hazel. She was an amazing woman:)
On Tuesday, my husband will be driving to Alabama again, for his father's funeral. Things aren't OK at this end of the line, so I have to stay in Michigan. And I don't mind one bit.
Am I afraid to stay home alone for five days? Good grief, no! I have friends, neighbors, (three feral cats) my children and best of all, the Lord God himself. He stands guard over me like a mother hawk, watching over her young. By day and by night, I live in safety! 
Will we miss each other? Oh yes, of course we will. But, what's 5 measly days with the rest of our life together, lying ahead?
Anyway, Jay loves to drive and travel. Myself, I'm a homebody at heart, which is definitely OK. My father was this way and I'm a lot like him. Will I live to be 92 years old, also? Only God can answer that question lol

Jay is looking forward to visiting with Vivian,, our niece. She is almost like a sister to him, they grew up together! Dad was 97 yrs old, so there won't be many tears of sadness:(

Isn't it nice that nowadays we check in with loved ones by phone or online? That's good that Jay enjoys traveling and driving. I am sorry he has lost so much of his family recently.

Deepest condolences!
I am not scared to stay alone. I always feel that God is there watching me and I feel safe
. My husband used to travel a lot for his job. It has reduced since the pandemic. So, I have stayed alone and managed alone even in foreign lands. And that too with pregnancy and young girls to take care of.

I actually enjoy being alone with God! And Jay communicates with the Lord, every minute while he's traveling! There's nothing wrong with doing this:)

Jay loves to drive, I enjoy flying once in a while. We aren't sad, instead we are happy that Dad is in heaven! lol

over 900 miles, that's a very long drive. I believe he's headed back towards Michigan, on Saturday.

Safe travels to Jay. Now I am so used to being alone with two cats that I certainly have not problems with being on my own, In fact unless I had a very good friend with me I think it would bother me to have someone around, You are right five days do go fast and as we speak as of tomorrow I am counting down five days looking forward to my grocery order next Saturday, I hope you have a good start to the week,

Jay has driven that many times, he loves to drive! Before we got married, he drove to Alabama twice a year.
