iPod Problem - Earphones

Okay... i'm not sure exactly how it happened, but my iPod's earphones got wet... and now, if in a song the bass is too high, then the earphones start "crackling". How do i fix this...?

You're probably going to need new ones, you're lucky they still work. Water damage is the worst for electronics.
