Having a daughter that just loves penguins, I learned that there are many species of penguins that lives in warmer climates. The King and Emperor are two that I honestly know that needs the cold climates to survive. Sad to say, there populations are slowly fading because of global warming.

Yeah, penguins live in many different places. Only certain types of penguins live in Antarctica. There are also South African, New Zealand, and Australian penguins, among others. Can you take an antarctic penguin and put it in New Zealand? No, of course not. It's body type and natural food isn't there. It needs to be in its natural habitat. However, not all penguins live in cold places.

I dont think so penguins can survive in places other than antartica. If they can than all the zoos at hot places will have them, isnt?

yes..good thinking...but I though, maybe, something inedit, or some genetical modified penguins :))

No, never, because they have a thick skin and 3 or 4 cenmtimeters of fat that keeps them warm. And i think they can't survive in hot weather because they would suffocate.

I'm sorry to say this, but you're wrong. Don't group all penguins together. There are a great many penguin speces that live in warm weather climates.

no species of penguins could survive mediteranean weather. the farthest north you will ever find a penguin (in the wild) is madagascar, south africa, or the galapogos islands and if you look at a globe, that isn't really that far north. south africa and argentina are like the southern hemisphere's version of england, norway, or canada; they're places that are capable of being quite cold. after all they are all within a thousand miles of antarctica.

i think penguins could not survive in hot weather conditions, because it is their natural habitat to live in the ice.

Well, I know there is a certain species of penguin that lives on the southern coast of South America, so there are some that can survive in hot weather. I would guess though that it would depend on the species.

For antarctic penguins, the answer is definitely not. Any species have adapted their environment. The antarctic penguins have their own life style, human-being can not change it. They have thick fat and for the infancy penguins, their feather is dark easy to absorb the heat from the sun, which is lethal to them. I just have seen a documentary about the antartic penguins, which said one third of infancy penguins die from hot. They can't protect themself with their feather like their parents. So, I don't think antarctic penguins can survive the hot weather.

I think some other species can but most of them will not. I answered this judging by their build and not just on their natural habitat.
