Noise Nuisance...you could call the cops.....I know when we had 3 dogs one of them would constantly bark at nothing...I was reading up on it and it said that dogs that bark at nothing or dogs that bark at familiar things(mailman that's been passing by your house forever...kids walking home from school etc...) are in need of attention! Just thought I'd mention that! But If I had a serious problem I'd talk to the neighbors first and let them know and if they didn't do anything about it then I'd call the cops!

AAAHHHH the ever classical scenario "me own no dog, me try to sleep, and neighbors pets drive me up the fckin wall scenario" This is a situation that is very common in many areas, especially semi-suburban areas, and it can be a hassle to solve sometimes. First off, many towns have a noise ordinance, including pets, that starts between 10PM to 12AM and ends between 5am to 7am. For the most part, approaching the neighbors directly yourselves is a hard route to go for for several reasons #1: The last thing you want is to have friction with those who live really close to you. it can make things really uncomfortable and, in many extremities, can lead to people not wanting to go outside in their own yard or even to violence (I have seen this happen a couple times) #2: Sometimes, not always though, a loud barking dog tends to be a hostile barking dog and that can lead you to ending up with a bite from the pet. That would suck as potential lawsuits and things could come over that from medical expenses, not to mention the human beings serious disliking for unneccessary pain Here is what I recommend. Call the city or county police. I have done this several times (occasionally 12 times in one evening and dont feel at all bad about it) They have an option when you call something like that in where you can tell them YOU MUST STAY ANONYMOUS TO THE PERSON OR PERSONS YOU ARE FILING A COMPLAINT ABOUT!!!!!!! You have the right to sleep and police officers, even over something as small as complaints about noisy pets, have a job to do and you, a responsible tax payer, have the right to get your sleep and your money's worth out of the officers whose salaries are paid by our taxes. Anyway, if you file a complaint and remain anonymous, even if it means bugging the cops several times in a night (which is your legal right to do so so dont back down """although it usually only takes a single call)they will tell the owners they need to take the dogs inside and keep them quiet late at night or they risk a fine. Now, as well know, money is a good way to keep someone inline so odds are it will work at the first attempt. The sneaky neighbor and the solution: Some of the more extreme neighbors (I call them azzholes for short) will sit there and tell the officer they will take their dog in and, a few minutes after they leave, will bring the dog back out and put it on the chain. THE SOLUTION: Call the police again. Whether they are happy about it or not, they will go back to that neighbors residence and be a bit more forceful about it and ALL THE WHILE YOU STAY TOTALLY CONFIDENTUAL FROM THE NEIGHBORS People who put their noisy pets out late at night do so because THEY dont want to be bothered so THEY can get their sleep. You do not have to put up with this. People with pets need to keep them well mannered and taken care of and, in my opinion, if they cant then they dont need to have them in the first place (For the record, I am a dog owner and lover but at night, even though my own dogs can be a bit noisy, I keep them in the house and quiet so they do not bug others who are trying to sleep) I hope this helps you, or someone else, having the same problem
