Both sexes lie about their physical appearances and bodies...true or false?

Men and women both lie about their bodies when trying to impress people. I hold that this is true. Men have been lying for years, we all know that. Now that you can make up a sort of relationship online, women can lie about their bodies. No one can see you, unless you choose to show them on webcam. With a photo, well, you can send a fake photo...I know that has been done to me...by another woman...we were only casual girlfriends online, and I don't know why she chose to send me the fake picture. I just know that when I met her, it wasn't the girl in the picture.

A lot of people do that. I have never done that though, I don't think it's right, because if you end up meeting the person after, you look like the idiot who sent the fake picture, and it tells the other person that maybe you're not trustworthy after all. I think a lot of women lie because they feel they need to stand up to society's picture of the "perfect woman". Men lie also for low self esteem, or for trying to impress woman. I once did a test: I did two profiles, without pictures, on this dating website. The first one was my real one, describing me as I am (brown hair, hazel eyes, a little overweight, etc.) the second one was of the "perfect woman" (blonde, blue eyes, slim, busty, etc.) My original profile got like 5 replies in a week...sadly, but truly, the fake profile of the perfect woman got over 50 replies in that same week... I was astounded to see that men really do prefer looks over personality, brains and just plain beauty.

I'm not sure if everyone lies about their bodies or appearances or not, but I know that I don't. I just don't see the point.
Either you like me or you don't. That's all there is to it! I'm not looking for a boyfriend (I'm already married) and if a girl would lie to me about what she looks like why would I want her to be my friend? If she lies about that wouldn't she lie about other things too?
