Before I was pregnant with my son I'd never even heard of this . But when i went in to get my ultrasound this is what they found in my belly along with the baby. I was told it was a fibrus strand of membrane from one side of my womb to the other and had to be monitored incase the baby got tangled up in it! Apparantly it only happens in about 1 in 1200 pregnancies (0.08%). What they were worried about is possibly the band becoming tighter and amputating whatever was caught in it, and my son was putting his arms and legs through it, and also his head!. Luckily for me this never happened as the band eventually broke by itself as it was pulled tighter (which can be common in this situation). The rest of my pregnancy was normal and my son is now a healthy, busy! little 3 year old. I just wanted to know if there was anyone who has had the same condition or knows of someone who has, have you even heard if before now? Here is a link incase you want to find out some more information on the subject. Thankyou your feedback would be greatly appreciated!. http://www.womens-health.co.uk/amniotic.asp

I understand this is rare...but I have been pregnant seven times and this is the first time I have ever heard of it! Wow! I did not know! How scary that must have been for you!!!! Just knowing that your son could be killed while in the one place that is supposed to be safe! Wow! I have never heard of that before! I am glad to read that all turned out well though!
