sharing a meal with someone makes the time so more enjoyable. and no one likes to go to a restaurant and eat alone.

During the week, because of work and school committment, it is almost impossible for us to eat together. However, at weekends we make a point of eating together and it becomes a family talking forum, blessed be

my family and I eat together. It's not right for anyone to be left eating alone when everyone can take a seat and take part in the dinner.

I almost always eat alone. I'm an Australian married to a Thai, so Traditionally I sit at a table, where Thais mostly eat on a mat on the floor. Also I work odd hours, so I'm often not home when she eats. Another reason is I can't eat the hot spicy food she enjoys. Well having said all that I should add she takes great care of me and I'm fed extremely well.

that is so sweet with our significant other taking extra steps in making sure we are comfortable. so at least eating together is not an issue with your family. i think we all used to eat together so someone would be there to clean up the mess. my husband and i eat different foods and he is a late night eater. so we don't eat together very much either.

I eat by myself because my husband works from 3 P.M. till 11:30 P.M. So I am by myself when the dinnertime is here. My son has a family of his own. I still remember when I was living at home it was a requirement that we all were at home and around the dinner table at dinner time. There were ten of us and boy what a noise factor there was. But I remember it as a happy time of the day. We all would tell what went on at school and mom and dad always paid special attention to each of us and what we had to say. They would respond where it was necessary. I think that now a days that tradition has been laid down by the roadside. Most families that I know of eat on the run. That is even the dinner time. It is a shame because I remember that time as special at our house when I lived at home.

Normally we eat together when someone actually cooks! Not at the table or anything but while sitting in the living room, on the couches, watching t.v.! A lot of the time it's us all eating at different times (because a lot of us work) and if not at different times then in totally different places altogether! Like outside of the house! There's quite a few of us living in my house now...it's my parent's house but a cousin just moved in for a while and my boyfriend also lives with us because he's closer to his job here, so we all eat at different times usually. I think we only eat at the table on Thanksgiving and Christmas and even then if other family members come over (which is what normally happens) there's not enough room at the table for everyone so we still end up eating on the couches! lol But it's ok, I love when my family is over! I'd rather sit on the couch talking to them than at the table without them!

Sad to say, I had to take dinner alone at home as I am back home only after 9pm where it is way past the family dinner time. It would be ridicious to have everybody wait for me to have dinner. On weekends, I eat out with my friend.
