Tottenham Hotspur Crest (1983-2006) - This crest of the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club features a cockrel standing on a football with the club's Latin logo, 'Audere est Facere' ('To Dare Is To Do') written on the bottom. The club was formed in 1882 as simply 'Hotspur F.C.', and renamed in 1884 to 'Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Club'. The cockrel was featured on the logo of the club since 1901, and it was drawn standing on a football in various forms since 1909, when it became an important part of the Tottenham identity. This particular crest was used from 1983 to 2006; it was replaced a few years ago with a profesionally designed logo to modernise the club and increase originality.
