When The Witnesses Knock On Your Door?

When witnesses knock on your door, do you answer and welcome them inside? or do you turn up the television or stereo and ignore the knock? No offense, but I would like to know how people deal with these home visits. Ive noticed here in my country sometimes when your most busy or you have visitors, the Jahovah Witness door knockers come round, which sometimes I think is rude.. I dont have anything bad to say about them, because I have a brother and his wife and children baptised with that crew... Thanks in advance

I wrote a discussion about this awhile ago, I hid in my kitchen lol. My son was trying to answer the door, he's only 1 1/2 so I hushed him into the kitchen with me, I was alone with him and was wearing a robe.

hi there, ghee the things we do to avoid this lot, is so funny lol, Im laughing right now, C'os Ive been in a similar situation, until I finally had to get verbal with them. It probably looks mean, but man when they use to come around, they were quiet pushy and I didnt like being forced to listen to them judge my culture and tell me its all wrong and evil. Thanks for yah comment. cheers

We usually ignore them, or get a call from a neighbour to say they are in the area, basically lock up and don't answer the door! They are pretty harmless and it's quite rare for them to come round. I respect their beliefs providing they don't try and shove their beliefs down my neck!

they have not come around too much. when my daughter was little they used to come around alot and we would not answer the door we would hide. i think it is rude to go house to house. if you wanted to join them you would go to their place.

hi, yes like you, they have not come around our house either. And I like that they dont call anymore. I got nothing against them, infact I have family that are baptised with them, my older brother, his wife and there 6 children are all witnesses. My brother and I have huge disagreements concerning our beliefs as indigenous people and there beliefs with this religion, I just dont see any point in talking to them, so give them the quick flick. But I will always talk to my bro and his family, as long as he doesnt try to preach to me. My husband puts his dog in the drive way so they wont dear walk past her. You may think it mean, but theres more to this story then whats posted. thanks for commenting, great stuff

When they come to the door, we just say that we are not interested. Turning on the television does not work, since they will knock again. They do what a response which is usually no and even though I know the Bible, I am better at writing than speaking, and I wind up forgetting the reasons why they are wrong, until later on when they have left, I will remember. I guess that I am not that good at oral conflicts.

if im home i will answer the door and i will listen to them.they have some interesting things to say.then when they leave i take the books and just put them on the table.i try not to be rude because they have the same right as anyone else and thats how they handle things by going to peoples doors.

I answer the door because I don't know who they are until it's to late. They could be someone just asking directions or in need of help. Then I let them go through what's on their mind. I don'tt ake the books or anything they want to hand out. WHy should I have to throw them away when someone might actually want to read them. It's just a waste to give them to me.

Hi! I think it is rude to go house to house trying to convert people. If I wanted to go be a Christian, i would. But of course, being me, I try to be polite. I actually don't have a lot of them at my door in this house, but before I moved we got a lot.

We had a real nice older couple witnesses come to study, and when i said i wanted to study hey were there ,like clockwork.I didn't want to study a few times but they came here anyway.I gave them my number to call to make sure i wanted to study, but they didn't use it, they kept coming anyway. So if you don't want them to show up tell them very clearly and directly and politely. They are nice folks but they are on a mission to convert so keep that in mind.
