do you have any mother's day traditions? or are you one of those who thinks it is a silly, manufactured-by-Hallmark-Cards holidays? i've been a mom for nearly 3 years and i have found that i wished i had celebrated my mom more. because man, we work hard? what do you do in your family?

yes, Hallmark has started many traditions. Mothers Day is one of them. I think it is an honor for children to give respect and show appreciation for Mothers & Fathers & Grandparents. My tradition for Mothers Day is to get outside and do my spring planting. When my step-daughter came into my life 7 yrs ago, we began this tradition of planting together and making our yard beautiful together. While we are planting, my hubby usually will grill dinner. It ends up being a lovely day spent with my two favorite people.

hai if u r an Indian i think that everyday for mothers in India is mothers day because like in other countries the children arent sent to live on their own even if they get a job these guys will never try to get rid of thier mothers I think to ask for special attention in between the all the attention you get in India is foolishness yes but if you are not from india and u are a foreiner then oh yeah its a very importanat day for u u need that priviledge of being recognised for all that you have done those sleepless nights etc just for the sake of kids after u get old needs for some attention so i think people outside India need that pinch of happiness on that so called day called mothers day,

This will be my first real mother's day ( my daughter wasn't born until May 24). So I am not sure what we would do. The sad thing is that I won't really get to celebrate, because I have no famly or friends here and my hubby is gone for three weeks. I am kind of sad because I could use at least 5 minutes of " mom Time". But for my mom we always got her a card with pj's or something simple she really loved it.
